Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith

Our statement of faith is founded on Scripture and is in line with the foundational principles of the doctrines of Christ.

This is the statement of Bible doctrines as believed and taught by Eon Life International.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God; a revelation from God to mankind, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Pet 1:19-21; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 1 Thes 2:13)

The Word of God is the authoritative and infallible rule of faith and conduct and is superior to conscience and reason. (1 Cor 1:27-28; 2 Cor 10:5)

Scripture cannot be broken but must be fulfilled. (John 10:35; Psa 119:89-90; Psa 138:2; Heb 6:18-19)

The Old Covenant was the type and shadow of better things to come. The New Testament is the perfect expression of God’s will and character, expressed through Jesus Christ. (Heb 10:1-18; Heb 1:1-3; Col 2:17)

The New Testament as recorded, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to doctrine, conduct and faith. (1 Tim 6:3; Titus 2:1-13; 2 John 1:9)

There is only one God, eternally existent, who manifests His Character in the Person of the Trinity. (Gen 1:26; Mark 12:29; John 17:3; Eph 4:4-6; 1 Cor 8:4-6; 2 Cor 13:14; 1Tim 2:5; Phil 2:6; Matt 28:19; 1John 5:7)

God the Father is greater than all. (John 14:28; John 13:16; 1 Cor 15:27-28; 1 Cor 11:3)

God the Father is the begetter and sender of the Word – His Son Jesus Christ, by whom the worlds were made. (Heb 5:5; John 8:42; Heb 1:2)

The Son, who is one with the Father is the Word made flesh; the begotten of the Father and has existed with the Father from the beginning. (John 10 :30; John 1:1; John 1:14; John 16:28; John 5:18)

There is only one way to the Father, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ. (Isa 35:8; John 14 :6; John 10:9; Acts 4:12)

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son, and proceeds both from the Father and the Son, and is eternal. (1 John 5:7; Gal 4:6; Rom 8:9; John 16:13-15)

Man was created good and without sin. But by voluntary transgression, he fell into sin, and his only hope of redemption is in Christ Jesus, who was manifested to take away the sin of the world and to undo the works of the devil. He gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works of faith acceptable to God. (Gen 1:26-31; Rom 3:23-26; Rom 5:12-21; Eph. 2:8–10)

The first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The only means of being cleansed from sin is repentance from dead works and faith towards God. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life. Regeneration by the power of the Holy Ghost through the Word of God is essential for salvation. The inward evidence to the believer of his New Birth is the direct witness of the Spirit. The outward evidence of his New Birth to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (2 Cor 7:10; Luke 24:47; Eph 1:7; John 3:3-6; Eph 5:25-27; Tit 3:5; Rom 8:16; 1John 3:8-10)

Baptism in water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ, to all who have repented and truly believed in Him as Savior and Lord. The ordinance is a symbol of the Believer’s identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Him, they have been buried with Him and they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matt 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:47-48; Rom. 6:3-6; Col 2:12-13; Heb 10:22)

The Holy Ghost is the gift of God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to the church. He takes abode in the person of the believer subsequent to the New Birth. When He takes residence, He never leaves except the believer continually walks in open rebellion and sin to the point of grieving Him. He dwells, walks, teaches, fellowships and preserves the believer to present him perfect and spotless a bride in the day of the Lord’s return. The Holy Ghost is the power that produces divine enablement for the believers walk of faith, witness and service. (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:5-6)

A believer is expected to live a life of holiness; without which no man shall see the Lord. This is made possible by the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost. Sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of the New Birth and continues until the consummation of salvation at the return of Jesus Christ. (Heb 12:14; 1Pet 1:15-16; 1John 2:6; 1Thes 5:23-24; Phil 3:12–15; 2Cor. 3:18)

The redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross provides divine healing for the body as well as salvation for the soul of everyone that believes. Healing is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith. Faith comes through the preaching of the Word producing miracles, healing, deliverance and salvation. (Isa 53:4-5; Psa 103:1-5; Matt 8:16-17; 1Pet 2:24; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15Acts 3:16Acts 9:34,40)

“…This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “…The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” (Acts 1:11; 1Thes 4:16-17)

One who dies in his sin without accepting and believing in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is hopelessly and eternally lost, bound to be cast into the lake of fire, and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. (John 5:21-23; Acts 17:30-31; Heb 9:27; Rev 19:20; Rev 20:12-15)
